Brought up on Rock, Prog Rock and Folk in the 60s/70s, began Classical Guitar mid 80s; Composed about 80 songs between 1970-2000. Sang in a Catholic Choir under superb director Gene Regard, San Diego. (not religious currently).
Took a break from 2004-2014.
Since 2014, focusing on performance skills, stretching my genre reach, vocal range, guitar techniques. Like to make covers my own arrangements and wanting to start composing again. I practice about 2 hrs weekdays and 3-4 on weekends.
Studied at SUNY Albany, NY, Cabrillo College Aptos, CA and many individual instructors along the way.
By day, I'm a Software Engineer.
What I am looking for
My duet partner is someone I am proud to make music with everyday. Selecting covers, composing originals, rehearsing, performing...
The most likely arrangement would be a partner who has at least one main instrument in guitar, piano, recorder and also has strong lead and backing vocals, any range.
In the next 3-4 years, I'll be transitioning into retirement and would like to travel, playing gigs and open mics along the way. In the mean time, developing a repertoire of high quality songs, playing local open mics, gigs and festivals in the Pacific Northwest - Seattle is very supportive of local musicians - to me, makes life's learning and hard knocks all worth it!
